1. Scope and overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Matrix Debate, operated by Matrix Debate, collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information in connection with the website, remote MCP, accounts, billing, Teams, evidence-card processing, files, support, and related services. It applies to United States users and should be read with the Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Matrix, we collect:

  • account information such as user ID, email, optional display name, authentication provider, verification state, timezone, sessions, and legal-policy acceptance;
  • agent-connection information such as OAuth client ID, client name, scopes, grants, request IDs, and security events;
  • debate requests such as public source references, requested proof role, limited source excerpts, job state, output, error receipts, and rendered files;
  • configuration and memory you intentionally save, including document-formatting and durable debate preferences;
  • subscription, credit, auto-top-up, Teams, invoice, tax-location, and transaction records;
  • device and network information such as IP address, browser, operating system, timestamps, security headers, and service logs; and
  • support communications, feedback, and privacy requests.

3. Debate content, files, and generated material

Matrix processes source text and instructions to generate and deliver evidence. Raw card jobs and rendered DOCX/PDF artifacts are ordinarily retained for no more than 24 hours. Compact durable usage events retain dates, statuses, funding source, and counts for billing, security, duplicate prevention, and dashboard metrics, but not the source text or card body.

Avoid submitting confidential, privileged, personally sensitive, or credential material. Public-source processing can involve third-party publishers and supporting retrieval services whose own logs and policies apply.

4. Billing and payment information

Stripe collects and processes full payment-card details. Matrix receives limited transaction information such as Stripe customer and payment identifiers, card brand and last four digits where provided, billing address, tax result, amount, currency, payment status, invoice, subscription, dispute, refund, and saved-payment-method state. Matrix uses an append-only ledger for credits and compensating entries for reversals.

5. How we use information

  • provide, authenticate, personalize, and support the Service;
  • retrieve sources, generate cards, render files, and remember approved preferences;
  • administer plans, rolling limits, credits, Teams, taxes, invoices, and auto top-up;
  • verify payments, reconcile records, prevent double charging, and resolve disputes;
  • secure accounts, investigate abuse, enforce limits, and protect infrastructure;
  • send verification, security, billing, Teams, legal, and support communications;
  • debug, measure reliability, improve accessibility, and develop requested features;
  • comply with law and exercise or defend legal rights; and
  • create aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not reasonably identify a user.

6. Model evaluation, training, and product research

Matrix does not use private account data, saved memory, billing data, or identifiable user debate content to train its primary card-generation models unless you separately opt in to a clearly described research program.

Matrix may use public sources, synthetic material, licensed datasets, de-identified performance measurements, and specifically submitted feedback to evaluate and improve models and product quality. Operational review of a support incident may inspect the minimum retained content necessary to diagnose it.

7. Communications

We use your email for verification, password recovery, security, billing, Teams codes, payment failures, legal notices, and support. Optional marketing, if introduced, will include an unsubscribe mechanism. Essential transactional messages continue while needed to operate your account.

8. How we disclose information

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary:

  • to service providers acting for Matrix under contractual or technical controls;
  • to an agent client you authorize and a Team owner for limited roster administration;
  • to comply with law, valid process, or emergency safety needs;
  • to investigate fraud, security incidents, abuse, or Terms violations;
  • in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice; or
  • with your direction or consent.

Matrix does not sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Service providers and integrations

Current supporting providers include Supabase for account and data services, Cloudflare for website delivery and network security, Stripe for payment and tax-related processing, Brevo for transactional email, public publishers for requested sources, and select third-party AI providers for occasional limited supporting inference. Your chosen agent host, Google sign-in, and OpenCaselist are separate integrations you initiate. Providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.

10. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

Matrix and Supabase use browser storage and cookies necessary to maintain secure sessions, complete PKCE/OAuth flows, prevent abuse, and remember device-local preferences. Stripe uses necessary payment and fraud-prevention technologies inside embedded payment components. Matrix does not use third-party behavioral advertising trackers or public marketing analytics at launch.

11. Retention

  • raw card jobs and rendered artifacts: up to 24 hours;
  • profile and memory: until reset or account deletion;
  • compact usage and transaction records: while the account is active and as needed to prevent duplicate work;
  • OAuth grants and sessions: until revoked, expired, or deleted;
  • Team membership: while active plus a limited audit period;
  • financial, tax, ledger, consent, fraud, dispute, and legal records: for the period required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights; and
  • security and service logs: for a limited operational period based on risk and purpose.

Backups may retain deleted information temporarily until rotation. Matrix may retain de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies you.

12. Security

Matrix uses safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the data, including encrypted transport, verified authentication, access controls, payment-confirmation checks, restricted credentials, short-lived artifacts, monitoring, and backups. No system is perfectly secure, and Matrix cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Your choices and requests

From the dashboard you can update your timezone, revoke agents, inspect billing and Team state, disable auto top-up, export account information, sign out, and request deletion. You may ask to access, correct, delete, or receive information by contacting support@matrixdebate.com or 1240 Stratford Rd., Kansas City, MO. We may verify identity and retain records that cannot lawfully or securely be deleted.

14. United States state privacy rights

Depending on your state and applicable thresholds, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit certain sensitive-data uses; and appeal a denied request.

Matrix does not discriminate for exercising applicable rights. Matrix does not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Authorized agents may submit a request subject to verification of their authority.

15. Children’s privacy

Matrix is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that an under-13 child used Matrix, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account. Users aged 13 through legal majority require any parent or guardian consent applicable where they live. Teams purchasers are responsible for required student and guardian authorization.

16. Processing location

Matrix launches to United States customers. Information is processed in the United States, including on owner-operated consumer hardware and U.S.-region service providers, although a provider’s support or resilience systems may involve other locations. Do not use Matrix where U.S. processing is prohibited.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service or law changes. The page displays the current effective date and version. Material changes may be announced by email, dashboard notice, or renewed acceptance before continued use.

18. Contact us

Contact support@matrixdebate.com or 1240 Stratford Rd., Kansas City, MO with privacy questions or requests. Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card numbers, private authentication tokens, or sensitive source credentials by email.
